Club Meeting – Mark Karaba

Mark Karaba is a fly fishing guide in southern Michigan. He is semi-retired from the concrete construction business. Mark has written for The North Woods Call and Big Buck magazine. He also had a brief career as a videographer, filming for an outdoor television show which on separate occasions, took him to film, hunt and fish on camera in far north Quebec, and to Labrador to film a segment on the “world’s largest brook trout “.
Mark has fished in many states including annual trips to Tennessee, North Carolina and West Virginia. In recent years Mark has spent time in Ontario seeking places that have Coaster Brook Trout and wild, yet accessible rivers for brook trout for possible destination, guided trips.
Mark is co-owner of The Fly Factor guide business, and runs drift boat trips on the Kalamazoo River for smallmouth bass and pike.
Mark lives in Marshall, Michigan where he is also the founder and president of Friends of Rice Creek (FORC), a newly formed conservation group dedicated to the stewardship and conservation of the Holt Rice Creek Property, owned by the State of Michigan and under lease to Calhoun County Conservation District.
